INSEAD delivers workshop on its innovative Blue Ocean business strategy to Masdar executives
INSEAD, the leading international business school, delivered a three-day workshop to executives of Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy company, at the Abu Dhabi campus. Team members from Masdar were introduced to key principles of INSEAD’s Blue Ocean Strategy. Using current day case studies such as contrasting the strategic logic of Nintendo with its Wii video game consul and the logic underlying the offerings of Sony and Microsoft, Masdar executives were shown by Michael Shiel, INSEAD Adjunct Professor of Strategy, how the Blue Ocean approach means an organisation aims not to compete with its rivals but to set itself apart in order not to have any competition.

INSEAD partners with Kellogg School of Management for 2013 International Impact Investing Challenge
INSEAD, the leading international business school, today announced a new partnership with the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University: the two institutions will collaborate to co-host the 2013 International Impact Investing Challenge (I3C). Now in its third year, the challenge is a “pitch” competition that provides graduate students from around the world with the opportunity to create high-performance, high-reward investment strategies that deliver sustainable social and environmental impact. In particular, I3C teams will apply core principles from the MBA finance curriculum. Doing so, they will design investment strategies that address issues of climate change, resource scarcity, energy security, education, healthcare and more.

INSEAD Appoints Global Interim Deans
INSEAD, the leading international business school, today announced the appointments of Deputy Deans Ilian Mihov and Peter Zemsky as Interim Deans of the school by the INSEAD Board of Directors. In addition, an eight-person Dean Search Committee has been created to identify a replacement for Dipak C. Jain who resigned as Dean of INSEAD for personal reasons effective March 1, 2013. Jain will remain with INSEAD as a Chaired Professor of Marketing and contribute through teaching and research.

Under the Patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mubarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, and with the support of the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), INSEAD, the leading global business school, today announced that its signature 10-month MBA programme will include a module for students to study on the school’s Abu Dhabi campus starting in January 2013. The module will bring MBA participants to the UAE to enhance participants’ knowledge of business in the region as well as collaborate with local and multi-national organisations.

INSEAD, the leading international business school, today released its detailed ranking of 100 of the world’s most accomplished chief executive officers across diverse industries and regions. The report, titled “The Best-Performing CEOs in the World”, builds on a global project initiated by INSEAD in 2009, in partnership with Harvard Business Review, which will publish the research results online today at http://hbr.org/2013/01/the-best-performing-ceos-in-the-world/ar/1 and in its January-February 2013 edition.
